Brits Planning Staycations After Lockdown

With none of us allowed to leave our homes for more than just the basics at the moment, let alone any kind of proper travel, you could be dreaming of trips to far-flung destinations.

But new research by UAE property portal Bayut has revealed that many Brits plan to go on a UK-based staycation once lockdown is lifted and we’re allowed more freedom of movement.

That’s according to Hello! Magazine, which reported on the findings. It noted that over one-third of those questioned (36 per cent) want to go on a trip in the UK after lockdown is relaxed.

In terms of the activities we’re all looking forward to the most when life begins to return to some kind of normal are eating out at a restaurant - 41 per cent said this was what they were most excited about - having a pint in the pub (36 per cent) and going shopping (32 per cent).

Bayut spokesperson said: “Faced with an unfamiliar situation it’s interesting to see that we all yearn for the simple things in life such as eating out in a nice restaurant or going for a long walk post the effects of Covid-19.”

If you think you’d like to escape to the countryside and are looking for Bedford places to stay, come and visit us at the Red Lion in Stevington. As well as delicious food, we also offer bed and breakfast stays.
